Our Team

Craig Klauka

Lead Pastor

In 2010, I graduated from Southwestern College (now Arizona Christian University) with a degree in Christian Ministry and a minor in Youth Ministry. In 2023, I graduated with a Master of Arts in “Biblical and Theological Studies.” I met my wife (Brittany) in college and we got married in March 2011. We have four awesome kids: Camden, Barrett, and twins Beckham and Addilyn. Together we have served in youth ministry for over sixteen years.

God stirred in our hearts a longing to further grow His kingdom. We desire to love and unite His people. God confirmed His plan for our family to plant a church in North Phoenix during the Spring of 2021. We applied to Vision Arizona (a non-profit church planting organization) and completed the assessments. We believe planting Grafted Church is a vital part of advancing God’s kingdom.

Matthew 9:37–38 “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”

Mike Kenyon

Executive Pastor

I grew up in the north Phoenix area and received a Bachelors degree in electrical engineering from NAU and a Masters in Business Administration from ASU.  I met my wife Cathy at Scottsdale bible Church and we were married in 1999.  We have four wonderful kids Hannah, Zane, Kaitlyn, and Christy.   Over the years, we have both served as Bible study leaders, young adult leaders, taught classes together and I have served as an elder multiple times.

After 30 years in the Semiconductor industry, I retired in June of 2025, and am so blessed and excited to start the next chapter here at Grafted, serving the staff, the congregation and our Lord. I love the Church in general, but feel called to help Grafted be a light to the local community.

Brittany Klauka

Lead Children's Director

I am so grateful to have served alongside my husband, Craig since we were in college. I graduated from Arizona Christian University with a degree in Elementary Education. I was a teacher for six years in the Phoenix area. I currently serve as the volunteer Children’s coordinator of Grafted Kids. I have a huge heart for kids to teach them to grow in their relationship with Christ as well as with others. I would love for the opportunity to meet your child! I have 4 children of my own. We hold Children’s service every Sunday during the adult session. We would love to have your kids be apart of this wonderful ministry. Even though we are a new church plant, we have a full curriculum and intentional lessons. Please contact me with any questions at kids@graftedchurchaz.com.

Katie Schaefer

Lead Director

I am originally from Texas but growing up in a military family, I’ve called many different places my “home”. My husband Jeremy and I have been married since 2004, and we have had so much fun raising our two children, Jordyn and Austin. In 2018, I felt called to be at home with my children. After 15 years in the corporate world, I stepped away from a very demanding Operations and Project Management role. After many prayers, we packed up our family and moved from Washington State to Arizona.

Since 2013, I have been actively involved in coordinating volunteers for events and leading & serving on international and local mission teams. I enjoy watching others grow in their faith and in their relationship with Christ. Becoming more like Jesus involves serving others, and it is with much gratitude that I get to be a part of what God is doing through Grafted Church.

Hunter Griggs

Youth Director

I was born in Colorado and came to Arizona in 2011. I have been married to my wife Cloe for a year and a half, and our family expanded welcoming my daughter Stella in April 2024. I grew up in the church with Pastor Craig being my High School Pastor. Our friendship continued long past high school, which led me to serving at Grafted Church. I have now taken on the role of Youth Director for 7th-12th grade students, and it has been the honor of my life. Being equipped and prepared in God to enter the adult life of this world is vital for our students. Building a firm foundation at a young age will give such strength and clarity to the trying situations we inevitably face in life. My goal is to give our students the best experience in what doing life with God truly looks like, and make them a light in this world to share God’s gift as far as they can.
